Berkeley Publisher version 4.8
New features & enhanced functionalities
The newest version of the Berkeley Studio is out! With the release of 4.8, we introduce a host of new features, improvements and fixes that make modelling faster and easier. Furthermore, several new features should help advanced users get even more out of the Berkeley Studio.

Document preview
Related to this is the managing of the previews. Previously, enabling the preview in any model would enable it from that moment on. However, many of our customers would like to have more control over when to show a preview. The preview therefore now only shows in nodes after the node that enables it.
Free text in drop-down questions
A much requested feature, allowing free text in drop-down questions is now possible. Consider for example, a user that needs to select products but does not see the correct one. With older versions of the Studio, you would have to add an option with ‘Other …’ and add a new question. Now you can allow the user to pick his or her own answer!

Advanced conditions
Conditions are a vital part of working with our software. They determine when what happens, giving the modeller power over when to create texts, what paths the user takes and what conclusions are presented to them. With the arrival of 4.8, two more condition options are available. Both options are expected to be used by more advanced users, but feel free to contact us if you want to know more about them.
The else-condition allows modellers to add an extra condition to an action if the previous condition was not satisfied. This does not only save time, but will also keep the model easier to understand and update.
The condition-block allows you to give an entire section of actions a condition. You no longer have to add conditions to each and every action, but instead simply put them in a block. The blocks are conveniently shown in the Berkeley Studio, making models far clearer.
Menu & organization
With more and more users modelling, we receive much more feedback. The new version of the Studio has subcategories for all menu tabs – such as Model Flow under Actions – that helps both new and old users to find what they are looking for. We also restructured some parts of the menu to provide a more meaningful and consistent presentation.
